Hey hey, folks! Lumpz the Clown here, and on August 7th, 2017, I finally beat Castlevania Adventure ReBirth on Normal Classic mode! Don’t let the “Normal” fool you; this has been one of the most difficult games that I’ve ever played, and I’m that weird guy who plays Silver Surfer for fun! Continue reading

Stop the presses, the SFWF is returning to a screen near you TONIGHT at 6PM MST! In tonight’s matchups, you’ll see the likes of:
and, for the Main Event…a 4-way dance between Derik Moore, Arcade Android, Hiatu5, and Lumpz the Clown, some of whom may be livetweeting from inside the ring! Even better, all four of these men will be surrounded on all sides by unforgiving, razor-sharp…barbed wire! Continue reading
So there I was, working on my last beer of the night while playing Caslevania II: Simon’s Quest, when all of a sudden, I noticed two things:
- Time doesn’t pass when you’re inside buildings.
- Enemies that spawn on screen will endlessly respawn once you walk past a certain point.
Armed with this knowledge, I continued grinding until I experienced yet another phenomenon unique to the NES: you cannot earn more than 256 Hearts in Simon’s Quest. I’d experienced a similar issue when first playing Legend of Zelda many years ago, where you’re limited to 255 Rupees maximum.
However, I didn’t attribute this to the NES’s processor limitations until very recently (the very day that the above video went live, to be exact)!
Thanks to DubiousGamingOnline for the tip!
I’ve also heard banter in various Facebook groups that level-ups can only occur once inside mansions, so this exploit would only work for the soul purpose of farming hearts. However, as a longtime fan of Simon’s Quest, I was always more likely to die jumping/falling/glitching into water than taking enough damage, but hey, that could just be my own shaky understanding of how gravity works!
Perhaps I’ll have to test this theory out on stream someday…
Thanks for watching, and Lumpz the Clown OUT!

(7/6/15 Edit: Since this post, 2Awesome Studio’s original Kickstarter failed, but their 2nd Kickstarter was a SMASHING success, raising over $40,872! The WORLD will soon get the chance to play Dimension Drive!)
For anyone who’s seen my recent online escapades, you’d know that I’ve been a fervent supporter of 2Awesome Studio’s Dimension Drive Kickstarter since the moment I heard about it! These guys have been putting in a ton of work to make this game everything it deserves to be and beyond!
The first time I got a chance to play Dimension Drive was November, 2014, and it went a little something like this!
What made this even cooler…
